Bea Gatchell

Trauma Therapist


Bea L. Gatchell, MA, is a clinical social worker and trauma therapist who splits time between RVA’s Northside and Central offices. They received their bachelor’s degrees with honors from the University of California Davis in 2013 in International Relations and Russian Studies, and graduated Cum Laude with a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Chicago in 2017. Through the practice of gay affirmative psychotherapy, Bea is passionate about working with and providing more inclusive services to survivors in the LGBTQ+ community. Using a pragmatic intersectional framework to work with clients, Bea incorporates empowerment, feminist, trauma-informed, and third-wave behavioral values-based methods such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
