Carolina Sánchez

Supervisor of Advocacy Services

Carolina Sánchez is the Supervisor of Advocacy Services at Resilience. She joined the Resilience family as the Children’s Legal & Medical Advocate, eventually supervising the Legal Advocacy Interns, before stepping into this current role. As the Supervisor of Advocacy Services, Carolina oversees a team of seven legal and medical staff advocates as they provide support and information to survivors of sexual violence across Chicago. As a supervisor, Carolina works to see the bigger picture and ensures that we offer information and advocacy through holistic, survivor-centered approaches. This includes trauma-informed assistance with navigating the civil, criminal, medical, educational, and employment-related systems, among others. There are a multitude of options that survivors have, and Carolina and her team work to inform survivors and advocate for them. Carolina also works with institutional partners to improve access to safety, remedies and support for survivors, particularly regarding protective orders at the Domestic Violence Courthouse. She continues to be grateful for the opportunity to be a resource for survivors of sexual violence and their significant others.

Carolina has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, Spanish, and Latin American & Latino Studies from DePaul University. She comes to Resilience with professional experience in working with immigrant youth, family reunification, youth case management, and prior certification as a Residential Child and Youth Care Professional by the National Resource Center for Youth Services. She is able to provide services in English and Spanish.
