Thank You for Joining!
Our annual fundraiser, Soirée in the City, was Thursday, June 1st from 6:00pm-10:00pm at Morgan Manufacturing in Chicago’s West Loop, 401 N. Morgan Street. Soirée in the City hosted more than 350 local leaders, philanthropists, activists and urban professionals, and raised $171,588 to support RVA’s programs and services that are available free of charge to sexual assault survivors and their loved ones, as well as community education and advocacy programs. Guests enjoyed a special evening of delicious bites, tasty desserts and refreshing drinks, music by DJ Lady D, a silent auction with unique items and experiences, and a compelling program that spoke to our commitment to sexual assault survivors. Couldn’t make it to the Soirée? There’s still time to make your donation! #SoiréeWithRVA
We were honored to have Annie E. Clark and Andrea L. Pino with us as the 2017 Dr. Natalie A. Stephens Visionary Award recipients! This award was named for RVA’s founder and recognizes the work of far-sighted leaders who have made a powerful and lasting impact on the issue of sexual violence in Chicago and beyond. Annie and Andrea are co-authors of the book, We Believe You, co-founders of End Rape on Campus and featured survivors in the documentary, “The Hunting Ground,” which premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival.
Ways People Got Involved
RVA offered sponsorships that included event attendance, recognition at the event and more. A sponsor at any level received seating. Our sponsorships ranged from $500 – $10,000. Our sponsor’s generous support enables RVA to continue to provide programs and services to sexual assault survivors free of charge. By purchasing a sponsorship, organizations and individuals:
- emphasize their brand to event attendees;
- show their commitment to an organization that has served sexual assault survivors for 42 years; and
- gain exposure for their company through widespread media coverage.
RVA was fortunate to have an expansive silent auction that included a variety of price points. Some high-demand items were:
- Special dining experiences
- Weekend getaways – local or national
- Travel throughout the United States
- Sports tickets
- Theater tickets
- Distinctive liquor
- Popular electronic items
Fund Our Mission was a special opportunity to make an impact on the lives of survivors of sexual violence. Each dollar raised through this part of the program goes to ensure that we can continue to offer services free of charge to survivors and their loved ones, including 24-hour crisis response to our 14 partner hospitals, legal advocacy, counseling, support groups and more. Couldn’t make it to the Soirée? You can still Fund Our Mission by making a donation of any amount.
